Marianne Faithfull + Your Collaboration Invocation

AT HOME ART DATE | watch listen connect

I could see that she could collaborate. Not everyone can.

You really have to leave your ego at the door. -- Marianne Faithfull

Brilliant singer and writer, drug addiction and COVID 19 survivor, Marianne Faithfull is English. She achieved popularity in the 1960s with her hit single “As Tears Go By.” She left behind college and her love of the romantic poets for a life in the spotlight. After many setbacks, she is still standing. She recently revisited her childhood poetry passions and collaborated with Warren Ellis, recording poems by Byron, Shelley, and other romantics.

This AT HOME ART DATE is a chance for you to creatively collaborate in surprising ways.

(element three) CONNECT with a friend. One of you chooses a poem, and one of you selects a piece of instrumental music. (If you are a poet or musician or dare to be -- one of you write the poem and one of you write the music) Don’t tell the other what you are choosing or creating. Meet in person or over the internet and play and read what you’ve selected or invoked. Discover what synchronicity happens. Are you surprised by the random magic you create together?

How does it feel to have collaborated in such a mysterious way? Is it fun?
